<p><strong>Proposal</strong>:&nbsp;This scheme features the new landmark Business School for Newcastle University, a stainless steel clad 135,000 sq ft building over 9 floors. The second phase of this development is nearing completion (September 2011), comprising a 520-bedroom student village and 8,000 sq ft of retail space. Phase 3, comprising a further 351 student bedrooms, is due to start Spring 2011. The final phase will deliver a 290 bedroom hotel.&nbsp;</p>

<p><strong>Proposal</strong>:&nbsp;The Stephenson quarter is a 10-acre site next to Central Station.&nbsp; It is&nbsp;to&nbsp;be turned into a new vibrant living working and cultural area with permission for the construction of a 251-bed four star plus hotel, 60 bed boutique hotel, business centre, exhibition space, commercial offices and 156 residential apartments.</p>

<h4>Gateshead Town Centre&nbsp;</h4>

<p><strong>Proposal:</strong> This scheme features a Tesco store, additional retail and leisure units. Student accommodation is being built above the retail floors and a hotel is also proposed creating a fully formed residential and commercial development. The scheme will make Gateshead a retail and leisure destination, bringing visitors and shoppers back to the town.</p>

<p><strong>Proposal</strong>: The Point forms part of Ochre Yards which, when completed, will provide in excess of 200,000 sqft of mixed use accommodation including offices, hotel, restaurant, and retail space overlooking the River Tyne&rsquo;s famous Quayside. Point 5 is a two storey former Victorian railway building that has been superbly restored with the assistance of Heritage Lottery funding to provide approximately 3,231 sqft of Grade A office space which&nbsp;has now been let.</p>

<h4>Baltic Business Quarter</h4>

<p><strong>Proposal</strong>: This is a 21 hectare site in the Gateshead Quays area. Developer Terrace Hill and architect Red Box Design Group have in partnership created and implemented a masterplan to deliver up to 1.5 million square feet of urban office accommodation. The site already has the new Gateshead College, the regional and European HQ for the Open University and Baltimore House.&nbsp; Work has begun&nbsp;on the Northern Design Centre, this will offer some 60,000sq ft of purpose-built office space for startup, small and expanding companies together with designated creativity, exhibition&nbsp;and research areas.&nbsp;</p>

<h4>Northern Design Centre</h4>

<p><strong>Proposal:</strong> Northern Design Centre will create a regional design hub where world-class concepts, collaborations and initiatives can be developed.</p>
<p>The 60,000 sq ft building on the Baltic Business Quarter will provide incubators and studios for new and growing businesses, exhibition space and presentation facilities. It will also be home to RTC North&rsquo;s Design Network North, a regional resource for businesses looking for expert advice in developing new products and services.</p>
<p>Northern Design Centre is currently under construction and will open in early 2012.</p>

<h4>Hoults Yard&nbsp;</h4>

<p style="padding-left: 30px;"><strong>Proposal: </strong>Hoults Yard has been transformed in recent years from an industrial estate to a funky and flexible office complex with character. It&rsquo;s a great place to work and includes entrepreneurs in PR, design, digital, marketing, manufacturing, audio visual, conference production and general business.&nbsp; Recent developments have focused on revitalising the historic buildings, creating Maling Studios, The Old Forge and The Boiler House. The Kiln adds a new dimension to Hoults, providing high specification, open plan new space alongside one of the latest developments &ndash; a popular caf&eacute; in our original 1879 Clocktower.&nbsp; Hoults runs a cultural programme which includes events in music, art, film and performance which is attracting plaudits both nationally and internationally.&nbsp;<strong>&nbsp;</strong></p>

<p><strong>Proposal</strong>:Baltic Place is a 131,000sqft BREEAM Excellent office building situated on the NewcastleGateshead Quays. The building was completed in 2010 and is now over 30% let to tenants including 1NG and NGI, Santander, Michael Page and Burj Petroleum. The development consists of two ten storey offices blocks with basement car parking. There are showers and bike storage facilities adding to the offer for incoming tenants.</p>
<p>The joint venture partners have purchased a further 3 acres of adjoining land to develop a further 200,000sqft of office and retail accommodation supported by a 400 space multi storey car park. There are also plans for a hotel development of 120 beds.</p>

<p><strong>Proposal:</strong>Opening on August 25th, the 203 bedroom Jurys Inn NewcastleGateshead Quays, is located in the heart of the city on South Shore Road, recently voted the &lsquo;hippest street in the UK&rsquo;* and is right next to the BALTIC Contemporary Art Centre. We will have a great offering for business guests with three dedicated conference rooms, hosting up to 180 conference delegates, along with an outdoor terrace and a contemporary riverside bar and restaurant.&nbsp; It is less than a five minute walk to Gateshead Millennium Bridge and Sage Gateshead.
