Set in North East England, NewcastleGateshead has excellent access links by air, ferry, road or rail.
If travelling by Rail
Direct rail services run from many UK cities to Newcastle Central Station. National Express operate the East Coast mainline from London King's Cross to Scotland via Newcastle and the CrossCountry route links the region with Scotland, the Midlands and the South West.
East Coast trains has a new timetable from 22 May 2011 including a new early morning four-hour Flying Scotsman between Edinburgh and London only stopping at Newcastle and a train one hour later week day departures from Kings Cross to Edinburgh, Berwick and Newcastle.
Northern Rail operate from Carlisle, Teesside and beyond, while TransPennine Express services run from Manchester, Liverpool and stations across Yorkshire.
A new London King's Cross service to Sunderland is operated by Grand Central Trains.
Newcastle Central Station is within easy walking distance of many central destinations and is well connected by Metro, QuayLink, bus and taxi.

If travelling by Car
The A1(M) passes through NewcastleGateshead linking the area to London, the South, Scotland and major routes across the country. The A69 links west to Carlisle, the Lake District and, via the M6, to the South and West of England.

If travelling by Air
Newcastle International Airport is served by many airlines providing direct links from top international and UK destinations, and is only eight miles from the city centre. The region’s metro service provides direct and frequent links to the heart of Newcastle in just 20 minutes.
